The mission of the Mark Twain Home Foundation is to promote awareness and appreciation of the life and works of Mark Twain and to demonstrate the relevance of his stories and ideas to citizens of the world.

See the bronze statue of Twain’s most memorable and mischievous characters as they are depicted walking down the banks of the mighty Mississippi River, awaiting their next adventure. Sculpted in 1925 by Canton, Mo native Frederick Hibbard, it is one of seven statues in the world of literary characters.

The Country Shop is a Brick and Mortar store that has been in operation for over 40 years. We have a very wide assortment of various collectibles and plush items. Mark Twain's boyhood home is just two (2) blocks from The Country Shop. If you don't see an item you are interested in we might have it. Contact us and we will try to find it in our warehouse.

Did you know Molly Brown was on her way to Hannibal when the Titanic went down? Come learn more about this “Unsinkable” heroine of the Titanic. Visit the place where America’s most fascinating rags to riches story began on July 18, 1867. Just a few short blocks from downtown, Margaret (Molly) Tobin Brown’s original Irish immigrant’s cottage is restored to its 1860’s condition. See photo displays on her life in Hannibal, Denver and the world, plus a room dedicated to the Titanic voyage.

Join us for an old fashioned trolley ride. Step back in time with us and relive the adventures of Mark Twain’s days in Hannibal. We offer you the history of Hannibal, show you sights and give you a chance to stop and visit several of our local attractions. You may depart and reboard our trolley at the Mark Twain Cave, Sawyer’s Creek, Rockcliffe Mansion, and our depot. Trolleys run open air in summer months and are enclosed in early spring and late fall. Don’t forget to visit our gift & snack shop. Group Shuttle Service is available during the day and the evening. Hours: Apr 15–Oct 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; Nov–Apr 15 by appointment only. Special rates for groups of 20 or more. School groups are welcome. Mastercard and Visa accepted.

The Mark Twain has been a unique feature on the Hannibal riverfront for more than twenty years. We strive to offer visitors and residents of Hannibal a uniquely authentic riverboat experience on the "Mighty Mississippi".

Mark Twain wrote, “By and by somebody shouted, “Who’s ready for the cave? Everybody was. Bundles of candles were procured and straight away there was a general scamper up the hill.” An experienced guide will escort you on a one-hour tour featuring points of interest mentioned in Mark Twain’s writings. Walkways are level and smooth and there are no steps. Persons of any age can easily make the tour. Bring a light wrap as the cave is 52 degrees year around. Wear sensible walking shoes and be sure to bring your camera.

Norwoods Golf Club is an 18 hole semi-private course that is open to the public. There is a wide variety of holes that include water holes, tree lined holes,open holes, flat holes, and rolling holes.
